Foodsave Banquet Lausanne

Around a third of the food produced in Switzerland is lost or wasted along the food chain – almost 3 million tonnes of food a year. To transport this food, no fewer than 150,000 lorries would be needed, lined up one behind the other to form a column from Zurich to Madrid.

Food waste has major consequences for the climate and the environment. All the players in the food chain together produce 2.8 million tonnes of food waste. We need to take action.

That’s why Foodwaste, COSEDEC, Jobtrek and MYBLUEPLANET have joined forces to bring you the first edition of the Lausanne Food Banquet, which will take place on Thursday 06 June 2024, from 11am to 8pm.

This party, dedicated to culinary delights and the fight against food waste (or foodwaste), will be a real place to exchange ideas, share and meet people. Interested passers-by are invited to sit down at one of the banqueting tables and enjoy a refined menu cooked with food rescued from the rubbish bin. Top chefs and volunteers will give a second chance to food that can no longer be sold commercially, and will ensure that the menu is a real treat for your taste buds. There will also be local wine, beer and soft drinks, live entertainment and lots of fun. We look forward to seeing many of you there!
